For the jaded who’ve played every course along the Strand—more than once—finally, there’s a new option. Sitting on the site of the old Sea Gull Club in Pawley’s Island, the new Founder’s Club opened last week to good reviews.
After destroying every bit of the old Sea Gull course, golf course developers Jerdon and Byers began carving a fresh, original design. Dropping $7 million dollars into the complete overhaul, the Founders translates into 7,007 yards of fun, designed by the talented Thomas Walker, complete with a fantastic Lowcountry-style clubhouse.
Featuring a huge amount of natural wasteland, the quiet Pawley’s location draws a different type of golfer—as reflected in the audiences for True Blue, Caledonia and Heritage Club. Want to give it a try on your next Myrtle Beach golf vacation? Ask your reservation specialist to add it to your package.
