Master architect Clyde Johnston's creation, Glen Dornoch, welcomed its first players in September of 1996. The 270-acre site is blessed with a dense stand of oaks, pines, and magnolias. Coastal golf courses are usually rather flat but this site has several natural 35-foot elevation changes, which slope down to South Carolina's most beautiful stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway.
With respect for the land, the course was built one hole at a time. At Myrtle Beach's Glen Dornoch, each hole flows with the natural terrain of lakes, live oaks, and spectacular marsh and river views. The magnificent clubhouse features a traditionally decorated pro shop with an extensive fashion collection. Glen Dornoch is located on Highway 17 at the northern end of Myrtle Beach's Grand Strand in the town of Little River, just a mile or two south of the SC/NC state line.
